Gig Worker U.S. is an NLOC-affiliated organizing network of gig workers in the U.S. service industry! This website is the home of The Gig Organizer, a newsletter written by and for gig workers, and the Gig Worker U.S. Forum. By combining digital and physical communication, we hope to expand and consolidate the professional rank-and-file relationships necessary for gig worker unionization. Gig Worker Committees (GWCs) are geographic bodies of app-based drivers and gig domestic workers capable of operating both on- and off-the-job. GWCs are composed of at least two gig workers united around the NLOC Draft Program, the shorter-term struggles for immediate demands, and the longer-term struggles for unionization, contract bargaining, and working class political power. Our long term goal is the formation of an All-U.S. Gig Workers’ Trade Union that can directly contract corporations and individuals to employ our labor for wages, terms, conditions, and standards we set ourselves.
To join or create a Gig Worker Committee, please utilize our Forum to express your intent, along with the grievances and demands you would like to organize around. Contact us directly at gigorganizer@proton.me for any sensitive organizational questions.
